Happy Spring!  Hope you all are doing well and beginning to thaw from the winter cold! 
This is just a quick email updating you all on upcoming Justin Trawick shows http://www.justintrawick.com/.  Justin and his band have been extremely busy over the past few months and we just posted new tourdates for this spring and summer, which you can check out at the bottom of this email.  If you’re anywhere around these cities we truly hope you can come out and enjoy Justin and his music.  Also, please forward this email onto all of your friends who might also be in these cities so they too can discover Virginia’s up-and-coming “urban folk rock” singer/songwriter!  Anything you can do to help spread the word is much appreciated!
If you’re not in these cities at all, do your part by going to iTunes and downloading Justin’s music.  He has four albums on iTune’s, all of which are $9.99 or less and ready to be bought and enjoyed!  If you’re a fan of www.pandora.com, go there and create a “Justin Trawick” radio station!

Recently I recorded an acoustic version of my song “Kool Kids” which made it onto my latest EP, “After All Is Said and Done” (available on iTunes).  People have been asking me for years to put my lyrics online so I thought I would start today by posting the Kool Kids lyrics.  Enjoy reading :)

Kool Kids

Kool kids standing in the corner smoking
toking on green that the girlfriends got for free
from an old time hippie
my rents are from the 60’s but they never got down with that thinking
cause homie don’t play that, course we don’t say that anymore, unless you’ve got a tape deck
cause now we got CD’s and itty bitty TV’s on our cellphones so we can watch MTV

Now we’re really cooking, yeah I’m smelling something burning
that TCH level is making the learning process a little slow
a little skewed, just a little over
turn the clock back jack it’s time to start over
cause a time machine exists inside of my head
when I go to sleep at night and dreaming in my head
about saving pretty women from a burning building
now what rhymes with building?

I never considered myself
an expert in life
I never considered myself a man
with answers for anything
I’ve never considered myself
the keeper of what’s wrong or what’s right
All that I know is that I know that I don’t know anything

Jobs come and go like food in my body
I’ll eat when I’m paid and I’ll sleep when I’m tired
and an ounce of alcohol won’t hurt me in the morning
a little pick me up, something to get me going
and I pride myself in the fact that i am never on time
cause i got an excuse and it always reminds me that young
able bodied and a little bit stupid
and I hope I never lose it.

Life’s like chocolate it’s sweet than it’s gone
no need to start crying you’re just wasting time
cause time’s a tickin’ tockin’ so you better get a knockin’
with your hands out of your pockets, go on a raise a ruckus
cause we’re kool kids standing on the corner smoking

but we’ll always die trying
what’s the point in living if there ain’t nothing that you’re giving?
